Hi is there anything you’ve found that has worked? This is my 6th baby. I’ve found it’s got worse with each pregnancy but it’s never started this early. I’m currently 9 weeks and vomiting 15 times a day. Today in 24 hours I’ve eaten 3 segments of tangerine and 2 biscuits.
im struggling so much already looking after the other kids as well as myself. I’m usually ok but this time round my partner has now changed to nights instead of days and I’m doing the bulk of it alone now. I’ve tried medications before but they’ve never worked I always end up on a hydration drip and just in & out constantly. I just feel so lifeless

Xonvea meds from doctors are amazing

JungleRun21 · 28/04/2025 23:48

This is my second HG pregnancy.
My sickness started again at bang on 6 weeks. Its actually been worse this time around.
I would ask your GP about Xonvea. Its the only drug specifically used for pregnancy sickness.
It is still relatively uncommon in the UK (my pharmacist had never heard of it) but it has been amazing for me.
I was referred to the early pregnancy unit for my vomiting and nausea and have been admitted for fluids as ive been so dehydrated. They switched me from bog standard antiemetics the GP gave me to Xonvea.
Im on the maximun dose and Ive gone from vomiting 15+ times a day to maybe once or twice, sometimes none.
If your GP wont give it to you, ask for an EPU referral and they can arrange it instead. (Apparently GP's are also reluctant as its a very expensive drug).

HG is pure hell and can be dangerous - out of curiosity why do you keep having more children knowing you will suffer like that? I can understand a second pregnancy but 6???

Rtmhwales · 29/04/2025 01:08

Mine got worse each subsequent pregnancy, though this last pregnancy it stopped at 18 weeks which it never has before. It’s been known to get worse with pregnancies.

@QuickPeachPoetAs much as I struggle I I’ve always dreamt of having a big family so I just gotta get through it.

So never mind that you are basically incapable of looking after them for months at a time and you put your own health at serious risk. But as long as you get what you want.

Just what a pregnant woman in distress with HG needs from some randomer who knows zero about how well she’s able to parent. This is a support group or it’s supposed to be. How helpful is this comment…not at all

Yes because you’re in a great state to parent when you are in that position. Ever tried helping with homework/picking up a toddler/driving kids to activities/doing your day job when you are throwing up so much you can’t stand and hooked to an IV drip, away from your kids?

I have yes I’ve had HG, she didn’t ask for opinions on how many children you think she should have. She asked for help around sickness. She’s pregnant what do you want her to do now.

mathanxiety · 30/04/2025 23:20

Do you have anyone - anyone at all, who could support you right now?

6th pregnancy? From a fellow HG sufferer this is beyond selfish and irresponsible
