im 40+3 today and lost this earlier on. All day I’ve been having brown mucus but not as much as this. Had a sweep two days ago on Friday morning and midwife gave bishops score of 6 with my cervix being 1cm long and 1cm dialated. My cervix was mid and neither firm nor completely soft. I’ve had lower back pain and cramps that have been irregular. Since loosing this big bit of mucus I’ve had small cramps and lower back pain, could labour be near?? How soon after loosing something like this did people go into labour xx

Hi, definitely a show. For me I only ever had a show once with dd and she arrived 24 hours later.

That's your show, definitely. I lost mine midnight-ish on the Friday, and little boy was born (after a bit of palaver) at 9pm on Sunday. Best of luck.

I had a sweep done yesterday and have been losing some brown mucousy stuff but wasn’t sure if it was old blood just from the sweep as I lost a little bit of blood when she did it.

it’s very similar to this so are we thinking this could be the plug coming away?
I always thought when it came away it would be more of a blob than like this but maybe not! X

I was thinking it would be my plug because I only had some brown spotting after sweep but nothing mucusey like this until yesterday. I have no more brown discharge or mucus since yesterday evening but have still woken up pregnant at 40+4 now😩😩hoping things progress today or tonight xx

I’m 40+2 and keep having contractions for hours at a time and then they stop again. Yesterday they were really strong and 8 minutes apart. Went to bed and they stopped. So I’ve spent the morning an emotional mess because I’m tired of being messed around! Haha.

That’s exactly what’s happening to me too with a constant lower back ache as well as😩😩these babies really love to keep us waiting lol! I’m hoping so too, I do have another midwife appointment tomorrow for another sweep if needed but would rather not have to as I found the sweep sooo uncomfortable and painful I don’t know how I’m gonna give birth lol, will keep you updated xx good luck💕💕

If it’s not jelly-like then it’s not the show. That looks like brown blood or discharge to me, which can also happen when your cervix is ripening or if you’ve had a sweep.

It was definitely like jelly like a big blob of brown jelly. I could feel as I wiped it like blobbing out lol tmi sorry! And before this had been having smaller jelly like mucus with tinges of brown in it, then I had the big blob of it xx

No nothing here 😒 I’ve tried as much as I can to get things moving but I’m still in the same position! I have another sweep on Friday and an induction booked for next week. Really don’t want to be induced!! Hope this sweep works for you 💕

Same here I’ve tried everything ! I don’t have a lot of hope for this sweep because it was a different midwife and don’t feel she did it as well as the other one🤣 but I’m hoping he comes before Monday so I don’t need to be induced 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Nope nothing😭😭 been having constant lower backache but no cramps or twinges or anything and im 41 weeks tomorrow. Think ive accepted now he isn’t coming until Monday when I’ll be induced lol what about you any progress ? X

me too! Think I’m still slowly losing my plug but other than that nothing!
Ive been so focused on hypnobirthing and a natural birth I’m now nervous that I’m going to be induced next week but as long as the baby arrives safely I guess that’s all that matters!

I know me too I really don’t want to be induced I’ve read too many horror stories 😫 and such a long process ! But yes exactly as long as they’re here safely that’s all that matters💕

This is why I don’t want to be induced too! I’ve heard too many bad things. They’re long, painful labours 😒 but there’s also some positive ones too! Need to stay positive! we can do this xxxxx

You don’t have to be induced, you can choose to wait a bit longer if you want.

I had nothing either and then suddenly things started and 4 hours later she was here. You never know!
