Hi all I have a wedding in 4 weeks time and am going all day and cant find much in the way of what to wear, can anyone suggest a website or a few to try I am 15 weeks now and am sporting a decent bumb already!! Everything I have seen is black and its a summer wedding, if all else fails guess it will have to be old faithful whte linen trousers and a top!!

how much cash have you got- can you afford something from Isabella Oliver?

www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes

Their stuff is spendy but if you choose a wrap-around dress for example, or one of their wraparound skirts or tops, you can wear it after you give birth too.

dizzydixies · 17/05/2008 21:57

I didn't find Isabella Oliver worth the cash tbh and sent it all back

can I ask what size you are ellielou because tbh I think you're better going up a few sizes?

Matalan have a good range that go up to a 20 and then their Rogers and Rogers go up to a 28

Dorothy Perkins do up to a 22 and have some really nice stuff online

as do Monsoon - up to a 22

I got a top from Evans for a wedding I was at last weekend and wore it with white linen trousers lol

got a lot of nice compliments though and I'm a size 18/20 and 29wks pregnant

I wore a wrap top from JoJoMaman with jersey foldover trousers from Mothercare (similar to IO), dressed it up with jewellry and looked fine (IMO). The wrap tops are so comfy, I had the peacock blue one with brown trousers which worked well.

OracleInaCoracle · 17/05/2008 22:01

what size are you?

ellielou02 · 17/05/2008 22:19

I am a size 12 and tried going up a size in jeans and trousers but they looked baggy round the bum and hips etc. Might get away with a dress tho.

I would get matty trousers but just go up in size in clothing, there are loads of great styles that can accomodate a bump without having to buy matty

what style of top would you normally wear?

OracleInaCoracle · 17/05/2008 22:23

here the gold paisley dress

Thankyouandgoodnight · 17/05/2008 22:23

I think white linen trousers and a top would be perfect.

ellielou02 · 17/05/2008 22:26

Am quite tall and like the smok type tops and long line tops think I will have to drag one of my friends on a shopping trip soon DH is no use at this .

I was in monsoon trying on 22s last week and they had some great longer length style

you should have a look at dot p and monsoon online for some inspiration

good luck and enjoy the wedding

ellielou02 · 17/05/2008 22:33

Thanks you for all your suggestions I will need to raid DH wallet and go shopping thanks again .

pleated top?

dizzydixies · 17/05/2008 22:35

dress

would work with bump and they do it in turquoise too

dizzydixies · 17/05/2008 22:36

top

would also work with bump and would look nice with white linen trousers

you get my drift though

ellielou02 · 18/05/2008 08:11

OOOOH like them all thanks dizzydixies.

I have EXACTLY the same problem. I am 16 weeks and wedding is in 2 weeks (eek). I have looked around a bit but find it difficult to find dresses to fit because my bust is so big.

I did go to TopShop and found some really nice sundresses. Many I tried on didn't look great, but found one I may wear.

Good luck and let me know if you have any more bright ideas.

accessorizequeen · 18/05/2008 19:43

I think wrap tops/dresses are ideal for the bigger boobed amongst us as they fit everywhere but I found a vest top underneath avoided too much cleavage! I am a 16 on the bottom but 18-20 on top esp when pg (38J at 20 weeks arggghhh) and my wrap tops are perfect. I don't do dresses though - Crave do nice wrap dreses, although a little pricey.

I bought a lovely top from Mamas & Papas - it's a grape colour and long and I wear it over white trousers. Something like that would look nice and elegant and summery

cupsoftea · 19/05/2008 11:18

got some super things from h&m & a lovely top from pumpkin patch last year

bikerunski · 19/05/2008 12:42

I'm 23 weeks and off to a wedding in 3 weeks. I bought a lovely tunic blouse from Gap Maternity to wear with a pair of white linen trousers I already have, but Gap had some similar maternity ones in. The blouse is dressy enough for a wedding, but casual enough that I can see myself wearing it all summer after that!

PS have changed my nickname from ahlh to bikerunski. I've changed my surname (to married one, after 8 years) and my old initials didn't work anymore!

bikerunski · 19/05/2008 12:44

PS Blouse was less than £30.

bikerunski · 19/05/2008 12:45

PPS Have just reread your post and see that you already have white linen trousers! I am dressing mine up with silver ballet pumps.
