Acrylic gel on nails whilst pregnant

Hi everyone
I'm really early into my pregnancy about 5 weeks and unfortunately have suffered previous miscarriages and dont have any children so I'm a bit overly cautious
I usually get my nails done every 3 weeks and I get acrylic powder and then gel Polish on top is this safe in pregnancy?
I type a lot for work and my nails are extremely weak they break and its really painful they usually split down the middle if I use Biab or just gel Polish on its own that's why I get acrylic powder then gel Polish on top
What I've read online is conflicting! Any advice would be appreciated x

With gel nails, there are only some brands and polishes that are pregnancy safe. I suspect it would be similar to acrylic too.

Acrylic nails are perfectly safe during pregnancy as nothing is absorbed through the nail plate

Online says gel and BIAB is safe in pregnancy. I'm still getting my nails done.

Thank you do you ever use acrylic powder? Or have to soak your nails in acetone?

Mine is soaked with acetone! Never used the powder.

Your nails are weak because you do this to them. Suggest you stop while pregnant - why take the risk? And they might improve!

My nails are weak, thin and dreadful and the shape of my nails is poor too. However, they do not split and break due to typing. I use a little strengthening nail oil every night and that helps.

I think you should give your nails a rest and nourish them for the next nine months. You won't manage with long nails when your baby arrives and I'd let them recover from the acrylics etc now because your poor nails will not thank yiu once the baby is here and you are washing your hands 20 times a day.

Congratulations and all the best for your pregnancy.

Thank you I did stop for 2 years completely but unfortunately didn't help my nails still split and it's painful. I don't have long nails I keep them short just have the acrylic to prevent the painful splitting but maybe I'll try again
