I had this with my last pregnancy, but have had it previously and expecting it again - it's carpal tunnel syndrome. Usually caused, I think, by fluid retention during pregnancy. You can get wrist splints to wear that help put your hands in a better position, but it doesn't always solve it completely. Once you've had baby, it should go away on its own.

I wish I could help more, it's horrid! Not much to be done than grin and bear it, in my experience. When mine got really bad overnight, I used to run them under cold water, which helped for a bit. Problem with splints is they can get quite sweaty and uncomfortable, so of you can find a way to avoid the sweatiness then you're in with a better chance x

Yes I developed carpal tunnel in pregnancy, was agony! And had a bone spur thing jutting out of my wrist even, very weak hands for a while post partum but it all cleared up, feels like a lifetime ago now with a 21 month old. So much our bodies go through during pregnancy, indidnt know the half of it!

I get this too, though I didn't know it was carpal tunnel. I assumed it was because of sleeping on one side position for long periods of time - it's only ever my right hand that's affected and a figured I must be leaning too heavily on that arm at night. Useful to hear others' experiences.
