Worried bleeding after BM

Hi I am 7 weeks pregnant, I am under a great deal of stress at the moment due to other things in my personal life. Now I am experiencing bleeding ( vaginal) after bowel movements. Thursday was pink mucus , yesterday was brown watery and today, very faint mucus pinkish discharge.

I don’t want to be gross in my level of detail but each time is after a urgent large BM.

Im so worried and upset as I had a miscarriage this time last year with I had to remove surgically. I know EPU will just say wait and see which would be horrific as last time was bleeding but missed mc . But I also cannot go to a private scan as I am a bit traumatised from last time receiving bad news then walking out to gender reveal bears and young parents staring at me crying.

Thanks,

Obviously I can’t tell you 100% but in my experience, pink or brown spotting can be normal through pregnancy. Bright red is more worrisome but not always meaning something bad.
im assuming it a bit of pink sitting round your cervix and the pushing out your poo is bringing it down.

at 7 weeks epu should offer a reassurance scan? Call them and ask and say about the spotting
good luck

Hi OP,

I had similar at around 8 weeks following bowel movement - but mine did turn to bright red spotting which was terrifying.

I went for a private scan and all was fine - I’m now 20 weeks. They said that sometimes the straining can irritate the cervix.

Hope all is well for you!

Thank you to both replies. I rang EPU and they have said the same and offered me a scan in the week. I know nothing can be changed or helped I am just so worried with having these symptoms after MC last year.

Thank you both, now it’s just time to wait and hope x

I’ve had spotting which was a loss and spotting which wasn’t, it’s really hard to say, only a scan will give you the reassurance really. Constipation and straining can defo push some bleeding out - doesn’t always mean MC.
Currently in this pregnancy I’ve had watery pink, bright red, brown but found a SCH at 10w so that’s been the culprit this time round. Good luck with your reassurance scan.
