Second Pregnancy Cramps

I have a nearly 10 month old but recently got a bit of a surprise and found I’m pregnant.

I am around 6.5 weeks and have the same amount of nausea and fatigue as the first time round. What is different however is the cramps. I had hardly any cramps in my first trimester last time but now it’s half the day and more than what I’d class as uncomfortable.

I’m just wondering if anyone has any experiences of this with their second pregnancy?

I was thinking if it could be down to the shorter gap between pregnancies maybe.. but maybe that’s just me trying to find a reason where it’s not indicative of a problem.

I am currently 5.1 weeks with my second & I am experiencing worse cramping then did in my first pregnancy. I don’t remember having any cramping this early on in my first pregnancy. Not 100% sure but I am putting it down to the abdominal muscles relaxing earlier as they have already been stretched once in first pregnancy. You can also show earlier because of this

Oh yeah that makes a lot of sense, thank you for your input ☺️ it’s hard to remember sometimes that each pregnancy could be completely different!

I had a MMC first time round so this is technically my second pregnancy - and I had awful cramping at around 6 weeks. It was all fine I the end, but I went to GP after they got so bad I couldn't really walk, to get checked out for ectopic. Paracetamol did sod all. Ended up in EPAU and was scanned because they were also worried about ectopic (apparently just cramps is enough of a symptom). Turned out to be settling in pains - they eventually wore off about 8ish weeks.

Thank you for sharing your experience ☺️ it’s really reassuring to hear. Unfortunately don’t have easy access to hospitals, I’m not even sure if there is an EPU equivalent in my current country… sometimes I do miss the UK. 😅 I hope all goes well with your pregnancy!
