Hi guys just looking for a bit of advice before I end up driving myself insane waiting for my next appointment.

I found out I was pregnant on March the 19th after being on the pill for x amount of years. My last period was the 19th of February which lasted 4 days however I missed a period between December and January. Looking at the dates I would be 9 weeks today however I did a clear blue 2 weeks ago which advised I was only 2-3 weeks. I have had a scan today due to some brown bleeding (not enough to fill a pad but enough for me to panic that somethings wrong) and they have advised they can see the yolk sack but baby is measuring only at 5 weeks and it could potentially be a missed miscarriage and to go back next week and see if things can change.

So I have a few question, has anyone else's dates been well off and they have still gone on and had a healthy pregnancy? I'm trying to think positive but it is so so difficult as this is my first baby as well.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP, it is so stressful. 4 weeks difference is a lot if you are sure of your dates and does sound like a missed miscarriage. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you though, sorry again x

Yes that's what the early pregnancy unit said today :( I'm just hoping it is the case of wrong dates and everything is okay, at least that's what I'm praying for anyway x

I'm afraid it sounds like the pregnancy hasn't progressed. I'm sorry.

@OneHappyDreamer it may have been a missed miscarriage but equally you may just be much earlier than u think……. when you are coming off the pill your body can go through hormone fluctuations, the period you had in feb may have been the result of an anovulatory cycle ie.no egg was released that month . Some women have anovulatory cycles regularly or occasionally ( I am one of those) …you may not know as you can still have a monthly bleed and it can be helpful to track your cycles via egg white mucous and basal temperature.

I think it’s not looking good unfortunately. Ignoring your period dates, if you go by your first positive test on 19th March you should be at least 8 weeks absolute minimum (that would be assuming you first got a very early positive at 7dpo which is unusual but possible). So I would prepare yourself for a MMC unfortunately. You can’t really be earlier than you think with that positive test date. The positive test alone was 5 weeks ago now.

I am preparing for the worst, just hoping for the best possible outcome but not looking likely :( x

I am hoping it is just the case I am a bit earlier than I think! I ordered 20 of those cheap tests off amazon back last year when I missed December's period and the first test was on the 19th march with a faint line (only saw it as I was cleaning out the bin and seen it!) did another as I know you shouldn't go off the results after a certain amount of time and there was a line there for sure. Kept doing cheap tests and the line was progressively getting darker as the days went on. Did a clear blue on the 4th April which confirmed I was 2-3 weeks which does add up to the 5 week mark.. All very confusing x

Still the same I'm afraid! Still bleeding but not enough to fill a pad up and it looks old. Did another test yesterday and still very much with child! Won't know for sure until Wednesday though when my next scan is x
