Honestly its driving me mad. Am 11+1 had this for about 3wks no other symptoms but its so blocked i cant blow my nose, sniff, anything. Night times are worst,it cant be a cold as they always go straight to my tonsils and dd gets them. Any advice welcome.

Tis a pregnancy thing I'm afraid.

Might be exacerbated by hayfever, but I remember feeling blocked with both of mine. I think someone told me it is to do with the blood vessels enlarging or summat.

I get this when pregnant too. It's certainly not one of the worst symptoms of pregnancy, but it's bloody annoying!

Thanks. Never had hayfever before but thats what everyone kept saying. Its definitly not the worst thing, had 9months of sickness with dd and anythings better that that. Mind you if this lasts 9mo ask me again in nov and see if i still say that!

Try vicks under your nose and olbas oil on your pillow (or as perfume lol).

I had this during my 1st pregnancy and with this one as well. (the bad news is that it steadily got worse the bigger i got!)

Am 17 weeks and I totally sympathise with you!!

it could be rhinitis.

the hormones can cause the nasal passages to become inflamed and swollen.

i have had it and HATE it.

buy some sterimar in the chemists, it's just saline solutino, and follow the directions on the can for irrigation.

irrigate your nasal passages 2-3x/day until you get some relief and from there maintain by irrigating every other day.

I had it when pg too (and that was during the winter) I also used to get small nosebleeds all the time when I blew my nose. Yep, bloody annoying! I think it got better later on in the pregnancy though.
