I've seen older posts on this, but hoping to see if anyone has anymore recent experiences. I am planning to self refer to a hospital soon as I just found out I'm pregnant. We technically live in Lewisham, but are as close to Queen Elizabeth in Greenwich and Princess Royal in Orpington. Our GP is in same Borough PRUH. I'm a bit torn on which hospital to refer to. I've gone to lewisham various times while living in southeast london, Inclduing got a recent miscarriage, so it's a bit triggeribg in that way, but overall the care was good albeit communication and information was lacking. I've gone to QE for urgent care help, and honestly it was one of my best urgent car experiences but not sure if that correlates to the maternity ward. I've also gone to PRUH for non obgyn reasons and it seemed nice and new, but I've seen it's maternity rating from the quality care commission is needs improvement, where as the other two are rated good.
If anyone has experience with the hospitals or advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Also sadly we live a 15-20 min drive from each.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly with more recent experience but I had excellent care at the QE. One emcs and one vbac. Over 10 yrs ago now though. They were starting to refurb and create private rooms then.
The experience on the post natal ward was largely noisy and understaffed. Food was inedible.

Medical care was excellent which is the main point.
