Just as the title says really I thought it might be helpful to some wondering about ctg monitoring before 28 weeks. I am 26 + 3 and went into triage last night for reduced movements and was put straight on the monitor. All was well and the doctor also scanned me too to check the fluid and blood flow to baby was all good. I am type 1 diabetic so classed as high risk but I’ve still been told previously in triage that they don’t use the monitor until 28 weeks so it wasn’t always a given I would be allowed it at 26 weeks. I read this morning someone asking regarding going in for reduced movements and whether they should go or not and they were around 27 weeks so I thought this might be helpful to know. The doctor I saw last night couldn’t have been more helpful. He was reassuring and took the time to explain the little things. Infact I myself have been put off about pestering the triage team because having been in a few times previously and was told they won’t do any checks other than heartbeat before 28 weeks and it’s normal to have days where you feel less at this stage. Every time I’ve gone in I’ve had 2+ of protein and it’s never discussed or mentioned so my experience last night was very refreshing to say the least. The doctor also asked whilst scanning me “Do you know what you’re having” and also asked about names and it made me feel like me and my baby aren’t just another case to him, he actually made that little effort and it felt wholesome.
