So i have been in pain with my ribs since around 23 weeks pregnant. I am now 32 weeks pregnant, doctors and hospital have done tests to check liver and for pre eclampsia but nothing has come back apart from low iron. I've tried explaining to them that the pain is below my ribs and also in-between them. The pain feels like a very intense stinging, and nothing is seeming to ease it. I was told it is probably just the babys position. However I can't help but feel like there is something more going on. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this. I spoke to health visitor and she has told me that it does not sound right and to tell midwife but midwide laughed when told. It is also very sore to touch the told of bump, which I don't feel is right. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you 😊

Is it costochondritis?

An injury usually causes it but a friend of mine had it during pregnancy from about 20 weeks; just because of the extra strain of pregnancy. It went away a fortnight after baby arrived and never returned.

I had that in certain positions but 2nd trimester does seem early for that kind of pain. I'd ask to be referred for an extra ultrasound.

This is just constant, I mentioned it to my health viditor at the 28 week appointment and she just laughed at me. I'm really worried as with my first child I had a really traumatic birth, I just don't want anything to go wrong again. Feel like I wasn't listened to then and I'm not being listened to now. I will definitely asked for another ultrasound though see what she says. Thank you, 💕

I will speak to my midwife about this. It keeps getting put down to the position of the baby but I genuinely can't see how the position of the baby can cause pain in the same place every day for 9 weeks. So I will suggest this to my midwife and see what she says. Thank you 😊
