Breasts leaking colostrum at 27 weeks - is this normal?

I’m 27 weeks and just before bed noticed that one of my breasts was leaking nearly clear thin liquid - I assume very early colostrum?

I know this could happen but I thought it was later on! Has anyone else experienced this around the same number of weeks? Just after bit of reassurance!

NHS online sources doesn’t seem to suggest a problem but first time pregnant so everything uncertain! Grin

Yes, I started leaking and wearing breast pads from about 24 weeks, baby born at 38 weeks.

Yes! Bit of a shock to me when I was pregnant and didn't have access to Mumsnet!!

Yes mine started in my first pregnancy at about 24/25ish weeks, noticed the next morning my top was wet. That continued through the pregnancy but only at night so I wondered if I was leaning on my boobs like accidental expressing.

In my second pregnancy I didn’t really leak in the same way, only noticed small dry bits of white on my top but very minor and only from 32+ wks.

My milk came in both times days after birth. I never expressed colostrum, never figured out the hand expressing despite accidentally leaking.

I'm currently 30w6d and have been leaking colostrum for almost 6 weeks now, my midwife said this was normal but to not try and "squeeze" or force any out as this could trigger early labour. I have been waking up with wet patches on my bed it was a shock at first 😂

I noticed gold crust on my nipples at 18 weeks, I was cleaning it off in the shower and squeezed and a small drop of this thick gold came out 😂 I’ve had colostrum a few times now, never much. Usually just a drop on my shirt, or the feeling of my nipples a bit wet. I have yet to properly start leaking, just little drops here and there.
