I was told it was probably twins from 4 weeks (had bloods as was having fertility treatment). My hormone levels were apparently a lot higher than with dc1.
Physical signs I was nauseas a week earlier than dc1, I was more exhausted, people started noticing by 9 weeks. But all these could have been put down to second pregnancy/different pregnancy or having a dc to look after whilst pregnant. I found out at my first scan at 7 weeks for definite.

I went through fertility treatment so I knew I had a higher chance as I transferred two! My hcg bloods were really high and I sad convinced I'd felt two implant!

Other than that, I looked very pregnant at 8 weeks! I felt very nauseous and couldn't stay awake past 8pm 🤭

Early bleeding, hgc levels totally inconsistent with what they should be for pregnancy or loss so made no sense, egg sac was high so thought possibly ectopic pregnancy. Told no heartbeat at 6 weeks and not a viable pregnancy… 10 days later when I hadn’t miscarried I had a scan to see if I needed a procedure to remove and they found two strong heartbeats.

@TeenLifeMum I agree with the bleeding! I also had a heave bleed and apparently this is common for twins

alcoholnightmare · 21/04/2025 16:00

I bled so much I thought I was having a miscarriage…. Nope, surprise twins! Both now 5 and fit and healthy x

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 21/04/2025 16:26

As others have said early bleeding and in fact bleeding on and off all the way through, and feeling very hungry all of a sudden before I even knew I was pregnant.

No clue until I went for the 12 week scan. It was a very big shock 😮!!

100PercentFaithful · 21/04/2025 17:07

Early bleeding and bigger bump than usual (first pregnancy- obviously harder to tell with a subsequent pregnancy).
I bled at 5,6,7,12,13 and 18 weeks. Quite heavily too.

I got big very quickly and also had to eat every three hours or I’d start to feel pretty unwell.

I pushed for a scan prior to the 20-week scan and , hey presto, it was twins!!
