Keep getting a sharp stabbing pain in the vagina. Unsure if it’s the vagina wall or cervix region but so painful. Anyone else had this and all been ok?

I remember the shooting pain but not that early ? Maybe worth giving your midwife a call for advise xx

Don’t have a direct number for my midwife unfortunately and they’re only available Monday-Friday. Can’t contact the maternity department until 20 weeks locally so only option would be GP out of hours who I assume would be of little use :( xx

I've had shooting pain on and off since the start of pregnancy (now 23 weeks, all scans etc are good). I'd say it's settled more recently it was worse in earlier pregnancy. But after I looked it up I saw it can be a common thing in pregnancy. Of course get checked out if you're worried!

It sounds like lightning crotch (Google it, I promise I'm not making it up!). I had it a couple of times in the first half of pregnancy. Think it's caused if the baby slots itself near a nerve ending that runs through the vagina, but don't quote me on that. Uncomfortable, but not harmful.

Thank you both - I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else although grateful it isn’t just me whips experienced it! So horrible. I do recall having it in with my little boy although I’m sure I was much further along. I keep panicking thinking there could be a cervix issue. He was born at term though so no esrly labour etc with him.

another joy of pregnancy ! Xx

When I had it early on a lot of what I read said about it often being later in pregnancy but I found a lot of posts about it being earlier which was reassuring. At one point the lightning crotch pain/discomfort made it into a dream and then woke me up 😅 that was around 6/7 weeks I think! But definitely had it on and off since.

Oh no how stressful! Is it particularly heavy? Definitely see if you can get checked out at your EPU etc. when you can. I know many people have bleeding in pregnancy, fingers crossed it will be okay 🤞

Really hope you are okay @Rainbowchasing2022 please get in touch with your midwife’s they will be able to send you for a scan xx
