First baby and hardly any symptoms

Hi guys

I'm expecting my first baby in November, currently 8 weeks and 2 days but have had barely any symptoms apart from sore boobs, weeing constantly and feeling more tired than usual and I'm just curious to whether this is normal? I know not all women have pregnancy symptoms but I'm just so anxious that I hardly have any symptoms and my scan isn't for another 4 weeks :(

I was the same. I never had any nausea or anything either. Or cravings. I didn’t show for ages. I was always really anxious for scans because I didn’t feel pregnant at all.
The midwives and doctors all just said it’s not uncommon and wasn’t I lucky.
Try not to worry. I went from wondering when I was ever going to look/ feel pregnant to bump appearing overnight and baby constantly kicking 😅

Same here, a bit tired but nothing else. I was really surprised and relived to see a baby at my 13 week scan. Both pregnancies.

MumQ8 · 18/04/2025 12:32

That's perfectly normal. I was also so anxious that something wasn't going right. So just relax, and be excited for the future scan. And don't be surprised if later you get the symptoms, like cravings. Or in my case I also got travel sick.

You have symptoms, what symptoms are you hoping for?

EmzoElle · 18/04/2025 13:42

Hi,

I'm the a week short of you, currently 7 weeks 4 days and the lack of symptoms is stressing me a little.

I had sickness from 6 weeks with my first pregnancy, so it feels unnatural not having it this time round and making me anxious.

But current symptoms are very very tired, sore back, hunger and the odd headache. I could eat non stop all day!

But shows that all pregnancies are different, even for the same person.

Same and this really stressed me out, no sickness at all, felt mostly normal, barely any tiredness. 30 weeks now and going well :) I know it’s difficult but it is a blessing to not have sickness etc I think.

namechangeGOT · 18/04/2025 15:18

I fainted on the day I found out I was pregnant, then there was nothing at all until about 9 weeks where I started to feel like death on a barge every night at about 6pm! That went away at about 12 weeks and then symptom wise I was sound!

BC2603 · 18/04/2025 15:21

I literally only had slight tiredness until 17ish weeks - then from then on horrific projectile reflux until LB made an appearance 39+5 😂🙈

LavenderSweetPea · 18/04/2025 15:21

I agree with pp, it's a blessing not to have sickness. Unfortunately being sick doesn't mean a healthy pregnancy any more than having no symptoms indicates a problem. I know it's stressful waiting to 'feel' pregnant but I promise you there's plenty of time for that! If you want to check in on baby if you can afford to why not go for an early scan, you should be able to see the heartbeat now and it might reassure you xxx

Thanks everyone for your comments, feels good to know I'm not on my own with hardly any symptoms! <3

Plenty of time to get the feelings of pregnancy

enjoy this time. Feeling well. Excited. Etc.

Best of luck.

and fwiw
I didn’t even realise I was pregnant until I was 3m gone with my 2nd. It was the tiredness that sent me to the GP!!!

I'm on my 4th pregnancy. The first 3 I had hyperemesis starting at 4-5 weeks having time off sick by 7 weeks.
This time around I was over 7 weeks when I found out I was pregnant only testing due to a bit of nausea. I was on precautionary antiemetics for a couple of weeks and did have a small amount of nausea/vomiting if I forgot it but was able to stop them quite quickly. I'm now nearly 17 weeks and have barely felt pregnant at all! My last two pregnancies with hyperemesis ended in miscarriage so I know symptoms aren't necessarily a positive sign! This is my 3rd pregnancy in 9 months and I guess my body has finally learnt to cope with the hormones but I will say does make me uneasy at times!

PatsFruitCake · 18/04/2025 17:45

No symptoms for any of my three. I didn't realise I was pregnant with DC3 until I was 16 weeks.
