Hi new to the site and new to parenthood!
my partner and I have just come back from an 8.5 week private ultrasound scan. Everything looked and seemed perfect! We are completely thrilled with what we saw 😊
but towards the end of our appointment the nurse mentioned something about horns on my partners uterus. Stupidly we didn’t ask her to explain further, she said it’s nothing to worry about. But as you can imagine after a bit of googling it’s all we are worrying about. the nurse asked if my partner had a scan in the past to which she said yes, and she said something about horns…I was just mesmerised by the scan footage and wasn’t paying attention.
can we take anything from the scan photo attached?
any advice would be welcome 😊

Firstly I am not a medical professional.
When I was undergoing fertility treatment they discovered I have a bicornuate uterus. Most uterus are pear shaped mine is heart shaped and the indentation which forms the dip at the top of the ‘heart’ are sometimes referred to as horns. Not saying that this is what the sonographer has seen in your partners case but it was what immediately came to my mind when you mentioned horns. I went on to have a successful pregnancy without any complications.

I would take comfort from the fact she’s not concerned by anything she has seen and told you there’s nothing to worry about. Congratulations to you both.
