My husband and I got married at the end of 2024, I got a big promotion in Jan 2025 and then, at the end of Feb, we discovered that I was 17 weeks pregnant, while we are also currently in the early stages of buying a home. I’m now 23 weeks pregnant and i’ll be turning 42 in May. So much has happened in the last 6 months of my life that I can’t quite believe it. All the changes and huge milestones are making me feel super lucky but very overwhelmed. Is anybody else just finding life more overwhelming during pregnancy?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Congrats on the wedding, promotion and pregnancy! It’s alot to take in but thankfully they are all good/positive milestones.

You have achieved/gotten what many people are dreaming of so allow yourself to be happy in this moment 🙂

Im finding the prospect of motherhood very challenging also. I’m 35 and 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby! I get overwhelmed when I start thinking about all of the things I need to buy and things I need to prepare for baby’s arrival. My pregnancy was not planned and I do not have the support of a partner which does get me down but then I remember I should be so grateful that I was able to conceive so easily and carry a healthy baby, where so many people on here are struggling to do so!

I hope you get everything sorted with your house before baby’s arrival so that you can enjoy your maternity leave and bond with baby 🥰

Congratulations on all the achievements and changes happening. What an exciting year you’re having!
I was definitely overwhelmed with my first baby. I had recently started a new job and been married less than a year and moved house, so also felt like you, that there was just so many changes in a short space of time.
I’m having my second in August and still feel overwhelmed and a bit scared. I think it’s normal to feel like this, whatever number baby you’re having. You know life will change again, and you don’t know exactly how life will look with a baby.
Just remember that you’ve had a lot of changes going on, which is great, but also takes time to adjust to, so it’s natural to feel like this.

That’s a lot of major life changes in a short time , totally understandable to feel overwhelmed. I’m 36 and expecting my first in July, and even without a house move or promotion it still feels like everything is shifting.
