Heyy

Just found out I'm pregnant (4 weeks tomorrow) I've read to expect implantation around this time. Is light brown normal?? Had a miscarrige before and I'm kinda freaking out 😞

Hey, Congratulations! i'm 4 weeks and 2 days and ive not had any spotting, not everyone gets it. Have you had light brown spotting? I think its pretty normal x

laurajane07 · 15/04/2025 15:36

@ChloeG84thank you!! And congratulations to you too! I don't remember having any at all with my first pregnancy which ended in loss. Because of this I feel like I'm looking for every symptom constantly and worrying x

@laurajane07 Im exactly the same. This is my first pregnancy after TTC for 2 years. We were due to start IVF this month, but then i got a positive when my period was late. Every twinge i get im panicking as im an older first time mum at 40 too. These first weeks are tough! Ive booked a scan for 8 weeks to hopefully ease some anxieties, but still another 4 weeks to go before that! x

Hello!

The general rule is that brown tinged blood/discharge is old blood, possibly shifted from changes in your uterus.

If you get some pink tinged discharge, this can also be normal/implantation blood, but if it goes on a while/more than a few days, get it checked by GP or EPU.

If you get red blood, whether with or without cramping/pain, get it checked by your EPU.

It's worth noting that they can't scan you before 7/8 weeks, as nothing would be visible.

Hope that helps!

@ChloeG84 oh bless you! How amazing is that you must be over the moon. Yep that's me too! I'm defo going to book a private scan, just don't know how many weeks to book it for. I was thinking anytime after 6 weeks? Maybe 7 if we can wait that long lol. I feel you x

laurajane07 · 15/04/2025 15:46

@MissKittyFantastico84thank you for clarifying for me! That would make perfect sense. I'm defo going to be keeping an eye and I feel like because I suffered a miscarriage last year I will know when something doesn't look right, as it was before. X

@laurajane07 - there was an option to book for 7 weeks, but i read that a heartbeat is more traceable from 8 weeks. I couldnt find a private scan for 6 weeks and NHS wont do it unless there is a problem x

laurajane07 · 15/04/2025 15:49

@ChloeG84il have a look on window to the womb's website. Maybe it was from 6 and a half weeks or something. That would probably have to be an internal scan as still super early, is that correct?x

ChloeG84 · 15/04/2025 15:51

@laurajane07 yep i booked with window to the womb and earliest i could do was 7 weeks, and its internal x

laurajane07 · 15/04/2025 16:15

@ChloeG84thank you. Il book for 7 weeks also x

I've just tested negative 2 days after my positive on clearblue digital what's going on? 😭

OP posts:
ChloeG84 · 16/04/2025 11:34

@laurajane07 oh hun, it may just be that your HGC levels arent high enough x

laurajane07 · 16/04/2025 12:13

@ChloeG84I've just taken another test (the one I did earlier was urine id left out to test when I got back from the shops!)

This was taken straight away after peeing again (so sorry for TMI)

What do we think?

@laurajane07 I know - im a frequent tester and keep trying to decide if the line looks fainter!

laurajane07 · 16/04/2025 12:55

@ChloeG84yup same as me!! Do you mean my test or yours?x

OP posts:
ChloeG84 · 16/04/2025 12:56

@laurajane07- mine 😊

laurajane07 · 17/04/2025 07:55

Hey ladies, so I've taken another digital this morning and it's negative. After my positive 1-2 weeks on Monday. The non digital tests are still showing a faint second line and when I called the midwife yesterday she said the CB digital are notorious for not being sensitive enough and it could just mean my hcg is just too low. According to LMP I am 3 weeks 5 days. Going out of my mind with worry after a loss before. Sore boobs, headaches. Surely that's a good sign? Is it worth buying the CB ultra early as this one is supposed to pick up lower levels of HCG? Help 😩

@laurajane07if it puts your mind at ease hun, do an early one - I’ve also heard that the pink dye ones can be clearer x

laurajane07 · 17/04/2025 08:19

@ChloeG84thank you I think i will. Which brands are pink dye ones? I'm in the UK so I need one that I can buy in the local supermarkets etc x

OP posts:
ChloeG84 · 17/04/2025 08:21

I’ve been using the Easy@home tests which I’ve got from amazon, I’m not sure which ones are available in supermarkets, maybe boots is a good shout for a bigger range x

laurajane07 · 17/04/2025 08:23

@ChloeG84ah yeah I should have ordered some on amazon! I don't think il be able to wait until tomorrow so il see what I can find in the shops. Do they say if they're blue or pink dye?x

OP posts:
ChloeG84 · 17/04/2025 08:23

@laurajane07i think it usually shows on the box x

laurajane07 · 17/04/2025 09:19

@ChloeG84I've just done a CB ultra early digital and boots own brand non digital pink dye test. Digital 'not pregnant' and the faintest line on the non digital. Cramping a bit more this morning too, just waiting for my period to come now 😢💔
