Body clock changed and constantly tired! (second trimester)

I am currently 26 weeks coming up to 27 and the tiredness is crazy! I understand that the first trimester is another level type of exhaustion and fatigue but second trimester I heard you get a massive energy boost… I haven’t had that at all.

I am getting tired by 6/7pm most nights, usually in bed by 8:30pm once my toddler has gone to bed and settled and I go down quite fast as soon as my head hits the pillow, and then I’m up at 5am, I am still getting a good 8 hours most nights with the occasional bad night from weeing frequently or the little one having bad nights but that isn’t very often. I am ok in the morning but come afternoon I feel so tired! I can’t even stay up to watch TV with my husband like I usually would, Ild rather go to bed as soon as little one is down and asleep.

is this normal to still be so tired in the second trimester? I don’t remember this with my first at all.
i am still working full time so it can be exhausting working, being mum and being pregnant, but even at weekend when I am chilling I just want to be in bed by 8. I’ve cancelled so many evening meals with family and friends just because I know I won’t be able to cope staying awake until 10/11pm 😅

I'm just into third trimester and struggled since the clocks went forward, too - but I don't have a toddler so you're probably more tired than I am! I could easily crawl into bed at 8pm. I always fall asleep watching telly after dinner these days!

That said, your midwife should do some more blood tests at 28 weeks, and they'll check iron/ferritin which may be lower now.
