Hi all just looking to see if any other mamas can share similar stories...
this is my 2nd pregnancy (low risk, 1st daughter was born 40+5 no signs of labour) And for the last 3 weeks I have had mucus plug falling out (light green colour) and yesterday my waters broke! I've been in hospital since, had antibiotics and steroids and going home today with hopes of keeping baby in until 37 weeks. Have to come back to hospital twice a week for monitoring. Is it likely I'll get to 37w? Terrified of labour starting early 🫣

I had exactly this. Also second baby after a full term birth with DD1.
My waters broke at 33 weeks and I had 2 nights in hospital and was given steroids and IV antibiotics, then sent home with the rest of the antibiotics as pills. I also was booked in for more scans and I think blood tests to check for signs of infection I guess. From what I remember, most of the time if labour is going to start, it starts within 24-48 hours. Mine never did and I was induced at 37 weeks. One dose of the internal gel and she was born 11 hours later.

If you get to induction, they won’t let it drag on and I think won’t use pessaries. I was given the gel and told if in about 6 hours nothing was happening, they’d move to the drip. I didn’t want a c section so didn’t ask about that, but obviously that’s also an option if you don’t want induction.

Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks so much! This gives me hope! Thought of a c section scares me as I have a toddler home to take care of so I hope it can go smoothly with induction like yours did. Just praying baby holds on for the next 3 weeks now x
