Hi all. DH and I already have 2 DC who are 6 and nearly 3. We ummed and ahhed about having a third for a while, decided to have my coil removed last month in order to prepare to TTC. With both of my previous DC it took the best part of a year to conceive, with careful cycle tracking, taking ovulation tests etc. So we naively assumed it would take that long this time, or perhaps even longer as I'm obviously a little bit older now. You can see where this is going, can't you? 😆
Well, we DTD once during my fertile window a week after having the coil removed, and I'm now pregnant. We are thrilled, excited, happy etc but I'm also suddenly terrified! How will we cope financially, physically, emotionally etc.
DH and I both have good jobs and work opposite shifts so we don't need childcare. We have no real money worries. My job offers a great maternity package which I qualify for. But we're in a good place with the two DC we already have. They're both sleeping through the night, they're both becoming that little bit more independent so we feel like we're getting that little bit of freedom back, and boom now there's another baby on the way. I have to be honest and say I don't particularly enjoy the newborn stage and I had bad antenatal depression/anxiety with my second (it improved massively after he was born though). We only have a 3 bed house so will either need to move or two DC will have to share. We will also need a bigger car.
I am happy, but sometimes I'll think 'Omg, what have we done??'. Please say this is normal? 😆
