Maternal hypertension

Hi so I was diagnosed with maternal hypertension around 30 weeks pregnant (never developed into preeclampsia) Controlled with labetalol 200mg 3x a day, then in and out of hospital with raised BP until delivery via c section last Friday 4/4/25 at 38 weeks. Was discharged 24 hours later. BP stable and labetalol reduced 200mg 2x a day straight away. BP checked at home by community midwife on day 1 and was fine. Then checked by Community midwife on day 5 and was 130/90 so sent to triage and ended up admitted into hospital for 3 days 😕 meds increased to labetalol 300mg 4x a day with enalapril 5mg I think once a day. On discharge my reading was 140/87 so higher than when admitted. All this is causing me to spiral with anxiety I'm so worried about being admitted to hospital again, Im constantly worrying about my blood pressure and I'm not enjoying these lovely newborn moments with my family. Can someone please share their (hopefully positive) experiences to give me some hope? I've heard it can take a few weeks to level out but is it normal to go up and down? And when will I hopefully see some better readings?

Hi, I have four children wnd had to stay in hospital or go back to hospital with all of them. Thankfully, once all my hormone levels levelled out, my bp returned to normal faurly quickly. Try not to worry as that will only make it worse. If you do have to go back to hospital, just remember it is what it is and you will be in the best place. Mine levelled out in a few weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I think I'm just looking to hear things will get better.
