Did you ever have gender/sex disappointment?

I know I'm referring to the sex of the baby not gender but a title about sex disappointment is very different thing

I'm just wondering how common it is to be disappointed about the sex of your baby. No judgement here.

I had a boy the first time and found out super early with sneak peek because I wanted to know to bond and pregnancy has enough surprises. I would've been happy either way.

This time I had a private scan at 16 weeks and they said boy (here they don't tell sex of baby at anatomy scan). Then at 30 weeks or so at a growth scan they said girl. Either way I'll be happy if I have a healthy baby at the end of it.

I'm 38 weeks + 4 days so hopefully will find out who is correct in a couple of weeks.

What has been your drive for a particular sex of baby or personal experience. I admit I'm super nosey and aware people have preferences.

Didn't find out the sex for dc1 or 2.
Was convinced the whole way through I was having a boy for dc1, which I didn't realise I wanted so bad until she was born definitely not a boy.
Then to my horror (as a 'tomboy' growing up and then anything but a girly girl as an adult) she wanted the pinkest of pinks and all the girly princess and tutu dresses you could imagine. I was absolutely out of my depth.
2nd I thought would be a girl and had mad dreams about two little princesses getting along. She ended up a lot more like me and prefers to play in mud that have teaparties. Also they try to kill eachother most days...
Here is to hoping the third is my boy!

Yeah I kinda wanted a girl and I am having a boy. Of course all that matters really is that he is healthy but im still kinda sad I cant do the pink unicorns and mermaids childhood with my kid.

My first 2 were boys, completely happy with this. They are the most loving sweet little boys. Baby 3 is a girl which of course I am over the moon about now I’ll have both. I think if 3 was another boy I’d maybe have been slightly disappointed for a few minutes but move on quickly. As long as baby is healthy of course that’s the main thing!

What are you hoping for OP? I'm very lucky to have two of each but I know if I had all the one gender I would have been disappointed. I think most families would like to experience one of each.
