Low Lying Placenta

Anyone been told at 20w their placenta was fine and then it was low lying at a subsequent scan? Can it move down as opposed to up?

Second pregnancy, first was low lying placenta that moved up. This time the consultants concerned that at 28 weeks it’s very close to my cervix but at 20w I was told it was anterior but not low?

I was told at my 20 week scan I have placenta previa ( low lying ) referred to the fetal medicine unit who confirmed this. Scanned a second time to see if it had moved, but it hadn't much.
I'm going to be having a c section in a couple of weeks. This pregnancy my placenta is posterior.
Apparently it can move up as the pregnancy progresses.

You’ll probably have some extra scans op. It might well not move much from 28 weeks so maybe think about how you would feel about a possible planned c-section. Good luck!! Xx

I’ve already had one ELCS, so I’m not bothered on that front. Just confused why it wasn’t low and now is. I thought it only ever moved up. Will have to get my head round the idea of baby being born at 37 weeks though instead of 39+ if it doesn’t move

I’m not sure actually! Have you seen a consultant and had chance to ask these questions?

Mine was low lying at 20 week scan and getting scan at 32 weeks to see if moved up.
