How far along are you? I don't think that is your mucus plug.. just looks like CM to me.

heroinechic · 11/04/2025 13:12

That’s not your mucus plug, it’s just discharge. When you lose your mucus plug you won’t be wondering whether or not you’ve lost it! It’ll be obvious to you x

What’s CM? I’m 34 weeks 3rd baby

Cervical mucus/discharge

WingBingo · 11/04/2025 14:08

You’ll know when you do!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 11/04/2025 14:11

No, mine looked like a wet dog biscuit.

I was most taken aback. I feel it is my duty to warn other people so they are less taken aback.

Like one of these fuckers but wet and swollen.

Thank you so much for this. I would have been so shocked and perturbed if someone hadn’t told me!

I’ve lost little parts of my mucus plug (it’s common, it just regrows) and it’s like a thick jelly long ball shape. This to me looks like discharge, however similar to the type I had when I had thrush! I’d get checked out for it at GP (it’s a very simple completely painless swab that you do yourself) just to see if it is, but honestly my discharge has been all over the place during pregnancy. Hormones can make a big mess, so I wouldn’t be too concerned xx

Doolallies · 11/04/2025 16:42

No doesnt look like mine did at all.

a large marble sized lump of clear or white jelly mucus. Like a huge huge snot.

mlhp · 16/05/2025 19:47

I’m 24 weeks. Had this last night and then again this evening a skinny brown string on wipe. I’ve had a bleed a few weeks earlier due to hematoma. But bleeding has stopped. Is this mucus plug coming away gradually? Is it early for it to be happening?

Is this my mucus plug?
Feliciacat · 16/05/2025 21:00

I would contact maternity triage about that to be honest. I mean, maybe it’s from the aftermath of the haematoma but it’s probably worth checking with a clinician. I hope you get positive news.

heroinechic · 16/05/2025 21:31

Another vote for contacting triage @mlhpbleeding in the second trimester isn’t “normal” though I will say it looks like part of your mucus plug and it has been known to regenerate so hopefully it’s nothing to worry about. Always best to check though!

Feliciacat · 26/05/2025 12:10

Any updates @paigemummydavis or @mlhp? Thinking of you both xxx

mlhp · 26/05/2025 14:21

Oh thank you!!! That was the last of blood I’ve seen after 5 weeks of bleeding so I think even it was the mucus plug it has regenerated, no contractions or water loss. Thanks so much for the helpful advice and kind thoughts!!

Feliciacat · 27/05/2025 01:04

I’m so glad to hear that and I wish you the very best for the rest of your pregnancy :)

MAFSQueen · 27/05/2025 01:10

My mucas plug was like a jellyfish. Clear and jelly and loads of it.
