Anyone Had This with Copper Coil?

I’ve had the copper coil in for over a year now, and my periods have been more or less regular, with a 33-day cycle. I thought my period started about 5 days ago—right on schedule—but it hasn’t properly started since. I’ve only had some brown spotting on and off. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what it could mean?

For whoever may reading this and might be in the same position just did a test and got a bfp which was surely very shocking considering I have the coil in... just shows no contraception is 100% reliable

Yep I got pregnant while I had a copper coil. I'd had it in for 3 years. The nurse told me it had moved after a particularly heavy period.
She also told me she had delivered 2 babies that had the mirena coil in the placenta!

Was your pregnancy normal after they found out about the coil? I've been booked in at the EPU tomorrow for a scan to check the position of the coil and see what’s going on. Just feeling so overwhelmed at the moment.

I had a termination with that pregnancy.
I had a scan at 8 weeks and the pregnancy was progressing normally. I had the termination at 10 weeks

Im very confused with my body and need tp know if anyone is the same as me ive had the copper coil for almost 2 years now and periods been fine this month im 3 days late and 1 day of brown spotting then back to nothing im wondering if need to do a test Friday or wait until my period arrives 🙃

I fell pregnant with a copper coil and know at least four others who did, too - definitely take a test @Wrighttrina

@ChasingRainbow5 hi thank you do you know what other symptons you had i also had brown spotting and with my first pregnancy I had no brown spotting

@Wrighttrina I can't remember, sorry, it was 13 years ago and I didn't continue with it.

my third pregnancy was with a copper iud. I had the iud removed early in the pregnancy and had my lovely third child.
1st pregnancy with day 1 of trying, second while bf with periods not returned yet, and 3rd with the coil. 3 kids in under 3 years; had my tubes tided.
I’ve never had spotting. no “symptoms” just knew.

@BreakingBroken thank you for replying to my post did you have any symptons at all? And did it turn out your coil moved? Im experienced brown spotting before but then after it would be period this time its not

Zero physical symptoms, I just “knew” I was pregnant and I was. The coil came out very easily, no spotting then either. Healthy easy pregnancy.

@Wrighttrina I ended up continuing my pregnancy and now have my amazing little girl in my arms. My only symptoms were light pink/brown spotting at the beginning, which I actually thought was my period at first. Other than that, I didn't really have any unusual symptoms early on.
I also found out at my first EPU appointment that my copper coil had moved out of place and was easily removed. I believe it may have been dislodged during a smear test I had the previous month.
