So had to have an early scan as had some spotting. My GA is 10+4 weeks.
was told the fetus age is 9w.
midwife told me EDD is October 31st.
im confused should the fetal age measure behind the GA they didn’t say at the scan that the GA was 9 weeks so I asked if they mean the fetus is 9 weeks and they said yes.
is this all normal

Your 'how pregnant am I' is dated from last period, even though you didn't conceive until likely about 2 weeks after. So I'd think fetus age would be roughly 2 weeks behind?

Ahh so the dates are nearly two week different. Is it normal in an early scan for them to tell you the fetal age and not the GA.

No idea! It's very confusing and a common issue. E.g. digital tests like clear blue are based of fetal age so it will say 2 weeks pregnant when you miss your period, even though you're 4 weeks pregnant based on last period.

Add on that scans can be up to a week out and you got a confusing mess on your hands! Early scans are often huge anxiety inducers for that reason (I had one myself for potential ectopic).

Your 12 week scan should be coming up and establish everything.

GA is the date per your last period. Fetal age is the current size of the fetus / baby meaning the baby is measuring smaller than what it should be at this stage.
