Anyone currently waiting?
I got the dreaded phone call yesterday to say my screening had come back high risk for DS 1/36. I have felt sick ever since.
went straight in for NIPT but the waiting game is horrendous. Thought it might be good to talk to anyone in a similar position.

Not currently waiting but I was in a similar situation to you a few months ago.

I was given a 1 in 26 chance of down syndrome. I opted to have the NIPT, had the test on Friday morning and received the results the following Thursday morning. My NIPT came back as low risk. I’m now 23 weeks and everything is going well.

Did they say what had flagged in your bloods? I have low Papp a which was the only thing that wasn’t normal with my bloods. The midwife said this likely caused the high chance of down syndrome.

I wish I could give you advice to help this waiting period pass quicker but in truth it dragged for me. I spent the week googling and reading what felt like every forum thread on the internet from people with similar results to me. I did carry on going to work which did help take my mind off it through the day. Also, if you change it to a percentage you have a 2.7% chance of your baby having down syndrome.

Thank you for your reply and I’m so pleased you had a come outcome.

my PappA was in normal range but I am 36 and the NT was 3mm so I imagine that’s what’s done it. My hormone levels were apparently a bit on the high side too but nothing drastic.

Im doing the same, googling and reading every forum looking for some hope.

I know the odds are still very much in my favour, but the wait is horrendous. I really, really want this to be good news for us.

We got the dreaded call and were told there was a 1 in 4 chance of Down syndrome. I’m 39, the NT measurement was 2.9mm, PAPP-A was in the normal range but on the lower end, and HCG was slightly elevated. It was the most anxious time of my life waiting for the NIPT results, but we finally got them back yesterday and thankfully they showed a lower chance. Hoping you get positive news soon too!
