Do they admit you to hospital in case your waters go and you get a cord prolapse? I read this on an old thread and wondered if it was true? If so, does that mean that you have to live at hospital until baby arrives?? Almost 29 weeks so lots of time for it to move but just wondering if it doesn’t. Thank you 🩷

Hi. Not sure entirely but I was already in hospital when my baby moved transverse and was told it the cord did prolapse it was a 6 minute emergency so I would presume you would need to stay in. I had a c section 6 hours later and was top of the list

Yes they will admit you. Dd2 waa transverse and I was told I'd be admitted at 38 weeks. She turned at 36 weeks. What helped was no slouching back, sitting up tall, sitting on my ball most the time with wide pelvis to allow her to go head down. Start now I'd say, 😁

Going into labour with a transverse is a medical emergency in case the cord comes out first so that's why they admit you

Hello, I’ve had two transverse babies and I wasn’t admitted. Both delivered via planned Caesarians at 38 weeks to avoid waters breaking. I was told to carry my medical notes with me just incase I went in to spontaneousl labour.

In my hospital it's admission at 38 weeks until the birth

It does seem trust dependant, but at mine you would be admitted at 37 weeks to await C-section at 39 weeks.

I had a scan at 38 weeks and baby was found to be transverse, I got admitted straight away until my c section a few days later.
