Low progesterone early pregnancy

I’m currently on cycle day 24 after a 3rd round of letrozole 2.5g.

I think I ovulated around cycle day 8/9 as I got a positive pregnancy test on cycle day 21. I’ve tested daily since and the lines have darkened and seem to be progressing.

as part of the fertility referral and letrozole treatment I have progesterone bloods on cycle day 21. They have come back as 15.9 nmol/l which seems significantly low and suggests not high enough to sustain a pregnancy.

the clinic have just told me to call back with my pregnancy test result when I’m technically 4 weeks and don’t seem helpful on giving me progesterone pessaries.

has anyone got any advice or positive stories in a similar situation? Can progesterone rise quickly after a low result? TIA

Go to your GP tomorrow and do not leave until they prescribe. The medication is in the “cant hurt, might help” camp so there is no reason for them to decline. My clinic were also reluctant to prescribe.

I had to do this, the GP prescribed them for me and was told to take them from the day I got a positive test. Any later may be too late, but please speak to your GP and ask. Too many women are refused the pessaries and it infuriates me. After 3 mc, my daughter was born healthy after using cyclogest.

I was referred for fertility treatments after 3 years of trying unsuccessfully to fall pregnant.
The only thing my GP had found wrong was low progesterone on my day 21 bloods which finally prompted the referral.

Somehow I fell pregnant before the fertility appointment but still had the call with the team to discuss my worries. I asked for progesterone supplements and was refused because my trust 'wont provide any form of treatment unless you had suffered 3 miscarriages previously'.
It was an absolutely ridiculius situation which caused alot if upset.
Somehow the baby stuck and we now have a wonderful toddler.
The only thing we could think of were the blood results being in accurate due to irregular cycles.
Dont lose hope, not everyone has the situation we had but we didnt find our NHS trust at all helpful.

Just an update, my levels have gone up from 15.9 nmol/l to 22.6 nmol/l in 4 days. Hoping that it continues going up.
