Hi! I’ve just found out I’m pregnant!! However, the clear blue digital said 1-2 weeks…. But the date of my last period was the 12th February! When I put that into the NHS calculator, it is saying I’m 6-7 weeks. Ive got to call my gp today to get my first appointment but just wondered if anyone had any ideas of a more accurate duration of pregnancy?

Clearblue digital tests are meant to date from conception. Whereas pregnancy is always dated officially from last period. So you need to add two weeks on to anything a clearblue says.

However. The clearblue tests are often unreliable so I wouldn’t go exactly by what it says. Last period can also be “unreliable” in people that have long or irregular cycles. Dating by last period assumes you have roughly a 28 day cycle and that you ovulated on day 14. So when officially dating a pregnancy there is always two weeks you were never actually pregnant at all. It’s just how they do it.

Unless you were tracking ovulation you won’t really know how far along you are until you have a scan and they can measure it. Do you know roughly when you ovulated?
