Hi I have just found out I’m pregnant, I’m 38 and we have 4 children already.
this was unplanned and a huge shock.
currently not really sure how I feel just looking for anyone else who has been in a similar situation and how you got on. Thank you

I haven't been in your situation, I'm 34 with 2 children, the youngest of whom has severe special needs and so we're 2 and done.
But I would talk to your partner. Is there question in your mind of whether you'll keep the baby? How do you both feel? My mum was 37 when she had me and my sister (twins) after years of infertility and she's never seemed like an older mum to me and she's an active and involved nan now xx

My sister has 6 children, her house is absolutely bonkers, but it's full of love and she wouldn't change it. Just be prepared to get loads of comments about whether you own a television or not x

Thank you for your reply,
we have 4 ages 13,11,7 and 4 and we are very content.
I lost my dad at the beginning but f the year and mentally don’t feel 100%.
I hate the idea of termination but am considering this due to my mental health my husband agrees that I come first and is fully supportive either way.
if I were to go ahead with the termination I would want to to be before 5 weeks which is next week as I am 4 weeks 2 days.
x

I think it's a very personal choice, all I would say about termination is make sure it's 100% the right decision if you decide it, as regret about it could further deteriorate your mental health. Talk through it loads. Sorry about the loss of your dad, I would not be ok either. Glad your hubby is supportive ❤️❤️ at the end of the day you probably have a hunch of what is right for you, it's just making sure you're 100% happy with either decision ❤️

Yes thank you I will definitely take time to think it through, I’m going to see my GP who I have a very good relationship with the also discuss things.
I do have a hunch but I hate having that hunch. X x

@Mummyc123 here to say congratulations to you. I love a thread like these of unexpected suprises 🥰 but from reading futher on it maybe not something you could mentally cope with right now?.. maybe if you looked at it in this way - you may have sadly lost your dad this year but the universe has given you something back in return 💕 where their is sadness their is always happiness i believe... but, whatever you decide is entirely up to you!.. i wouldn't rush into a decision just yet as it is still early days and your in shock by the situation.. best wishes to you & your family though ❤️

Bless you. I'm so sorry you're in this position. Just know that whatever decision you make is the right one for you and there's nothing wrong with early termination if that's what is the right thing for you and your family ❤️

YouLookinSusBro · 05/04/2025 19:59

Glad your husband is being supportive. Yes it's a very personal choice and wish you the best whatever you decide. Just wanted to say that depending on who is the provider for your area you may not be able to terminate before 5 weeks (at least not on NHS) - just don't want you to pin everything on doing it before the 5 week mark.

Mummyc123 · 05/04/2025 20:14

Thank you, I know we can only blame ourselves and of course the baby would be loved it’s just a good time for me mentally and emotionally x
