Faulty test or positive result?

Has anyone ever had this little mark on a pregnancy test before? If so, did it turn out to be positive or negative?

I'm actively trying for a baby and am 2 days late for my period. I retook the test but it was a different brand, but it said negative.

Thanks in advance for any help xx

That doesn't count as a positive test I'm afraid.
Re the late period, are you certain when you ovulated via BBT? If not, perhaps you just ovulated late, and therefore you don't know for sure what dpo you are at the moment.

I've been tracking ovulation with the strip tests, but I know they're not always the best.
I've had no symptoms of my period coming but I guess it's on it's way!
Thanks for your response xx

No worries 😊 I'm sure you know that OPKs only show an intention to ovulate, and your body can have more than one attempt, so it's possible you didn't ovulate when you think. You need BBT to confirm if you are interested in being certain in future cycles.
That being the case, I don't think you are either in or out yet this cycle. Test with a cheapy every couple of days until either positive or period?
Also if your luteal phase is shorter than average, eg 10 days, it is possible to be two days late for period and yet only be 12 dpo, which may not show a potential pregnancy on non-sensitive tests. If this is not the case and you have a standard 14 day luteal phase, you are now 16 dpo and a test would show positive if you were pregnant and you ovulated on the date you think you did.
The other thing is that your luteal phase can vary by a day either side of your average. So mine is 15 days, but I can have 14 day LPs and also sometimes 16 days. If I didn't know this I might think I was two days late on a 16 day month!

Sorry for the essay!

No I appreciate it! I'm still learning about all this so it's great to learn from other people xx
