Retinyl in my face scrub - safe?!

*retinyl palmitate

I've just realised that the face scrub I use (a Boots cucumber one, very basic) has retinyl in it, which is a kind of retinol. Before I spiral and Google, has anyone accidentally used it and caused damage? I don't use it every day (maybe a couple of times a week?) scrub on, rinse, done. I'm 28 weeks and baby seems normal on all ultrasounds...I'm really worried. I didn't think there was anything mad in a basic face scrub! ☹️

Retinol is a vitamin A which is why it's not recommended in pregnancy. That small exposure a couple of times a week though, can't imagine you've done any lasting damage. Swap to a different one now to put your mind at ease & try not to worry yourself. You could always mention it at your next midwife appointment if you're still worrying.

@Tooearlytothink Thank you! I have health anxiety which means I am a victim of Dr Google. I know from all the scans and tests I've had so far that baby is healthy but it always feels like one step forward, two steps back. Literally had an appointment with midwife on Monday 🤦🏼‍♀️
