Walked into a metal ironing board

Hi,
I walked into a metal ironing board by accident. It did hit under the belly on the right side. I am worried about impact. I walked into it a few times bumping my hip and back but nothing like this direct impact. Can it harm the fetus at 16 weeks?

thanks!

You'll be fine. Imagine what women get from their toddlers when they're pregnant with number 2. Baby is safe in there and it would take a much harder knock to hurt them. Congratulations btw

It won't cause any harm. There is plenty of protection for the baby, which is tucked quite far down into your pelvis anyway. Sore for you but not an issue. It does however sound like a good reason to put the ironing board away for the rest of pregnancy!

You’ll be fine. You’d need to have been hit with it in the stomach by someone swinging it at you. Or actually fallen into it with quite some force.

But just to check, are you ok? “I walked into something a few times” is sometimes code for someone hit you a few times, or you did something on purpose rather than accidentally because you’re going through a hard time. So, just checking that nothing else is going on and that you’re ok?

Why did you walk into it a few times?

It’s in the living room. I walked into it because the room was dark. I did bump my back into it and my hip walking by again. I also needed to double check the impact was indeed soft which it was as it was comparable to leaning into a table.

No harm, generally you’d have to have hurt yourself pretty seriously - like car crash seriously - before it would impact the baby.
