Measuring 1 week 5 days behind

Hi all, I am currently 7+5 and had a tiny bit of pink spotting this morning plus have had hardly any pregnancy symptoms (I was hardly functioning due to extreme nausea/sickness at this point with my previous successful pregnancy and MMC).

Just had a reassurance scan and they saw a baby with a heartbeat but only measuring 6 weeks so 1+5 behind. The sonographer also said that the heartbeat was slightly slower than she would like (she didn't tell me bpm but DH thinks he saw 111bpm on the screen).

I am pretty sure on my dates, even if I ovulated late this time frame is bigger than I would expect. I am expecting the worst but wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation?

I measured 1-2 weeks behind with my daughter. She ended up being born around the original dates.

Good luck!!

Thanks so much for your reply, I'm feeling really disheartened at the moment after previously having a MMC so nice to know you have had a positive outcome and it is possible!

Hi I’m going through similar. I have had a few scans and my most recent one they said baby had a slow heartbeat and is measuring behind. The nurse was really blunt with me and said a slow heartbeat and the other signs I was showing, she did not see it being a viable pregnancy. The sonographer showed me the heartbeat though and it was very very slow.
I’ve done a lot of reading and it does seem that a slow-ish heartbeat (especially around 111bpm) could just be a sign of things being too early and you will hopefully see a nice strong one next scan. Xx

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this, its all just so cruel and takes a massive emotional toll. In a way it's good that the nurse prepared you so that you can try to protect yourself. Do you have a rescan booked?
The lady that I saw was very kind and seemed confident in her abilities, she said in normal circumstances she would say the pregnancy is viable and no rescan is needed but as I am sure of my dates (within a day or two) and the gap is so big she will rescan. She said she is usually good at saying yes or no but with me she is 50/50, which in a way makes it harder because (having had a MMC before) I can't help but think this is baby not growing properly and I am heading down that same road again but I also have a tiny bit of hope that things will have caught up... even though I really think this is unlikely. It's going to be a long 10 days!
