Baby kicks?

Im 18 weeks pregnant, and I’ve been having these weird flutters since 16 weeks. They kindve feel like heart palpitations, but in my stomach. I’m confused as they’re usually very high up, like at the very top in the middle of my belly. Sometimes they travel down, but 90% of the time that’s where I feel these random kick feelings. I’ve been looking at anatomy photos, and usually 18 week babies ain’t that high up, so now I’m not sure. They also happen a lot when I’m lying down. I can also feel them kinda turn and move, which does make me believe their baby kicks but they’re so high up! Anybody else relate?

My baby used to feel like they were wedging their feet or bum into my ribs.

The uterus reaches up to the belly button at 20 weeks. Any kick will be felt down low. Could be just gas you’re experiencing and it’s in an odd space because your organs are pushed up to make room for baby

It’s weird because I’d think it was gas if it was occasional, but it’s not. It is very constant, usually when I’m lying down. And I can feel it turning and moving down. So one flick will be up high, the next one will be down lower and I can feel a sortve very very light spin motion.

Mine aren’t quite the rib cage, just above my bellybutton toward the top of my stomach. I’ll have to ask my midwife to confirm soon, I was just curious if anybody else felt the same 😂
