I’m panicking, have had what I thought was a very light and brief period. Took (2) test as had the all too familiar twangs that just didn’t feel like period cramps. Both immediately positive. I was out with work mates last night and drank a lot having absolutely no idea.
First pregnancy born early. 2nd I was red pathway for high BP and concern had pre-eclampsia with first. 2nd was a consultant recommended C section, first wasn’t.

38 start of April. Age is worry too. Any must dos in terms of early scans or testing? And am I likely to be red pathway again?

I had my third a few months after my 40. Best birthday ever!

I just did the same as before and had my NIPS test at 11 weeks.

Morning! Firstly, just think carefully about what you want to do. It's early days and you have choices. What about your partner? Would you both be ready for this?.
Secondly, if you want to go for it, every pregnancy is different, and no doubt you'll be monitored well. Good luck 🤞

I'm 38 and pregnant with my first, so don't let age worry you! That's what screening is for, and yes risks do increase with age but statistically you're overwhelmingly more likely to be pregnant with a healthy baby than not. I'd instead be addressing things such as are you financially stable, the age gap with your other children, and most importantly, emotionally, do you think you will want this child?

I also wouldn't worry about having been out drinking whilst you didn't know you were pregnant, as this is extremely common and in such an early point won't have done any damage.

Chat with the father, and work together to assess how you feel about the situation. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
