Had my 25 week midwife appointment today. Mentioned that for the last few weeks I have been having regular tightenings of my bump. Midwife thought it could be irritable uterus. Anyone else have this and does it cause ant problems?

I vaguely remember someone using that term when I had a urinary infection. I was somewhere around 25 weeks. I can't think whether they just said the infection was irritating the uterus or whether it was irritable uterus iyswim. Sorry, thats not very helpful is it.

I did. It caused no problems except that when i had to go in for regular monitoring at the end (nothing to with the IU) it confused them a tad and can be confused in early labour too

I am now at 33 weeks and have also been having regular tightenings of the bump since about 24 weeks. The doctor said it was early onset of Braxton-Hicks contractions, nothing much to worry about, and prescribed magnesium. If it helps, exactly the same thing happened in my first pregnancy and I went on to deliver a perfectly healthy baby with a natural birth at 41+ weeks.
