Pre eclampsia shoulder pain

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has had this as part of their pre eclampsia (I'm currently under investigation) so wondering if it's linked.

I've got pain along my left shoulder blade, where my bra would sit, radiating round to my front underarm/breast.

Just waiting does bloods etc to come back for my appointment tomorrow- but have a few other "classic" signs.

I had pain under my ribs, it’s a sign of liver trouble related to the PE.

Yes I also have that, first round of bloods showed abnormal results on my liver function test... So they've repeated them yesterday, along with another bunch of tests to try and get a bigger picture.

My BP has risen (130/85) usually around 110/65 aswell as headache, floaters etc.

I didn't have shoulder pain, but I had all of the other classic symptoms, apart from raised BP or protein in urine. I was fobbed off until it was almost too late. I had pain under my ribs on the right side, seeing stars in my vision, headaches, ankle and wrist swelling and generally just feeling very unwell. No one listened to me as my BP was normal. Until I had a routine appointment at 36 weeks and my BP had shot to 210/100. I was immediately taken for induction when they couldn't get my BP to come down. I started having hyper reflexes and my liver wasn't working as it should. I was put into high dependency and was on the verge of having eclampsia when they decided to do an emergency c-section. I had been having severe pain during the induction and back to back contractions. I dread to think what would have happened if it had been left any longer. My liver didn't go back to normal until around 5 weeks pp.

I'm glad you are getting further investigations. I wish they had done that for me. If you feel something isn't right, then hound them until they check everything.

Ah I'm so sorry they fobbed you off. I had a midwife appt yesterday, and she wants to repeat checks within 48hrs so I'm back in tomorrow - they do seem to be taking it seriously at least.

I initially went in for a cholestasis check, as I've started itching, but it's thrown up a load of red flags for other things. No protein in my urine or obvious swelling, but have headaches, dizzy spells, floaters/flashy lights and generally feeling a bit naff - whoch I'd just put down to being pregnancy and looking after a 4.5yo!

(I'm nearly 35w, and have a section booked for the 39th week due to previous emcs)
