Evaporation lines or pregnant?

I’m struggling to decipher from these tests whether I’m pregnant or not as I know ClearBlue are notorious for evap lines. These tests are from different packs and done on different days all of the results showing up within 10mins. My period would be due today but no signs whatsoever of it coming and have been experiencing the same very early pregnancy symptoms I had with my daughter. How would you guys interpret these?

what do the instructions say in terms of how long you have to read the result?

nmwx · 28/03/2025 13:28

Within 10 mins for a valid result, the lines just seem a bit thin 🙈

I think they look like evap lines but strange to get so many and no period, can you go and get another test?

Marie8611 · 28/03/2025 13:32

That’s what my test looked like and I have a wonderful three months old now! ☺️

bumblebeedum · 28/03/2025 13:35

Get a pink dye test or a digital. These clear blues are a waste of money.

This is what I thought too. I’ve never had this with clear blue before. I’m going to this evening and see 🤞🏼

I have some FRER coming tmo. It’s so bad if they give so many women false readings 🙈

I would say positive then as long as you read within the specified timeframe

Thank you ☺️ I’m going to test again with a different brand and see what it comes out as x

I’m going to test again with a different brand, clearblue is too unreliable 😬

everyone on here seems to be anti-clearblue. I’ve never had any problems with them 🤷‍♀️
good luck!!

I never had any problems with them either but it seems like so many do and I just want to be sure x

That’s not quite true in that there are a very small number of medical conditions which provide HCG which can mean a test is positive when you are not pregnant, a test not performed correctly can generate an evap line which looks positive, and a test prior to the date the period is due can be positive but implantation does not happen properly so the period arrives anyway - a “chemical”.

It is fair to say that a positive test is much more likely however to be correct than a negative one and given how many tests the OP has done which are all positive it’s pretty likely she is in fact pregnant.

nmwx · 28/03/2025 15:47

Tested with 2 different brands, digital and not and both were negative. Clear blue evap lines had my hopes up 🙈

I had very similar evap lines with those clear blue! But still hope for you until AF shows 🤞🏼 x

Thanks hun, been to the doctors yesterday and they confirmed with a blood test it was a chemical pregnancy 😔 x

Thanks hun. Did you end up being pregnant after your evap lines? X

How did they know it was a chemical rather than just early pregnancy?

lauraxoxo · 08/04/2025 21:57

@nmwxunfortunately not. All other brands were stark white! I have two Clearblue leftover for this cycle but I don’t even want to use them just to disappoint x

The gynae reg that my GP spoke to said that because I had positive and negative tests within the same cycle.

I know what you mean, as long as you’re reading them within the time frame they should give you a proper result, however other ladies on this thread recommended pink dye or digital tests to be sure x

OP posts:
lauraxoxo · 08/04/2025 22:09

Yes I’ve read that pink dye more reliable and digital less sensitive!
I’ve only ever had positive on digital because both my pregnancies I ‘stopped trying’ and missed any symptoms and didn’t test till past my period was due 🙈
