Hi is someone able to help me, im due 2nd august 2025. Just wondering if someone can tell me when i conceived roughly as when i go on online calculators it leads me back to my partner. I slept with my partner on the 7th november and he finished inside me. We then split up and i slept with someone else 16th november but he didnt finish inside me. I took a test on the 26th november and it was positive and then i took a clear blue 28th november and it said 2-3 weeks. I took another 2nd december it then said 3+ weeks. Ive done so many calculators and they say i conceived around the 9th Novemeber. My period was 23rd-27th october and my cycle is usually 31 days. Would you say the likely father is my partner?

Oooh this is a very difficult one to call as the dates are just so close. Given what you’ve said I’d say it’s most likely to be your partner, but as you didn’t use contraception with the other there’s absolutely a chance it could be him.
Between your likely dates of ovulation and dates of positive tests (was the first test you did an early/ sensitive one or ordinary 25miu one?) then best-guess is it’s your partner. However, I think you still need to do a DNA test to be certain. Best-guess isn’t enough when it could impact so many people.

Depending on the relationship dynamics, in your situation I would probably contact the one night stand guy. Explain you’re pregnant but don’t think he’s the father but want a DNA test to remove all doubt. Hopefully he’d be decent enough to agree and then you at least have your answer. You could ask your partner for a DNA test but not sure from your post if you are back together or what the history there is. It might be cleaner to eliminate the other person.

I'm due 2nd Aug too. I only had sex once on 6th November and I know I ovulated 10th November. My last period was 28 October 2024 on 26 days cycle.

Agree ask the other man first. Then process of elimination

Sorry, was not meant to press send! Judging by your dates, I would say its more likely to be your partners.

LucyLou0527 · 27/03/2025 12:52

i agree it’ll be partners, you can get a blood test while pregnant to confirm x

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 27/03/2025 18:51

Probably partners though not possible to say for certain. You can get a positive test at 10 days post ovulation (assuming you released an egg on the date you slept with the other person) but it would most likely be quite faint at that point, and don't forget sperm lives for up to 5 days....so if you did conceive with the other person ovulation day could well have been later than the day you had sex which would make the chance of the positive pregnancy test being from other person lower. Are your cycles regular? What was the date your period started that month?

My period started 23rd october and i slept with my partner on the 7th november and the other guy 16th november. My cycles are usually every 31 days. I got my first positive test 26th november x

If the other guy didn't finish I'd say 95% chance it's your partners. If he could have, then still 90% your partners, especially since your cycles are regular.

Thanks so much, this has give me so much ease as my anxiety has been through the roof as you can tell. Im hoping the clear blues was correct as that came back 2-3 weeks on the 28th november and then 3+ weeks on the 2nd december which would obviously take me back to my partners xx

Pretty certain it's your partners.

WhyCantIdoIt2025 · 27/03/2025 22:50

If your cycle is 31 days then your ovulation won’t have been much before day 16/17.

If your first day of your period was 23rd Oct this indicates you ovulated around 8th Nov, so it’s chap number one!

WhyCantIdoIt2025 · 27/03/2025 22:53

Or, looking at it another way. With a 31 day cycle it’d be practically unheard of to have a 25 day follicular phase and a 6 day luteal phase! No chance it is the second bloke!

BeKindPinkOP · 18/01/2026 22:35

Did you do a dna in the end? Was it your partners?
