Hi all,

I’m just currently going out of my mind with worry. I’m currently 16+4 weeks pregnant and was outside swiping our garden (as it’s artificial grass) and didn’t notice it was cat poo rather than a lump of dirt! Only noticed with the smell!

I used our outdoor tap to rise the broom and left it outside as it’s an outdoor broom!

I panicked after and washed my hands but realised the water had splashed up my clothes. I changed and got them in wash but still feel worried in case I didn’t think and came into contact with the poo in one way or another!

It seems extreme but I couldn’t rest and got in touch with my midwife and they gave me a blood test to be on the safe side! It’s worried whether it would be too early to detect anything!

sorry - very anxious first time mom to be here Xx

Thousands of pregnant women around the world own cats. And those cats poop.
They are fine and so will you be.

You might already have been exposed in the past and therefore have antibodies. The blood test will tell you. Try not to worry.
