Hello I had a scan today due to some cramping should be about 5 weeks pregnant and it was an empty sac I am due to be rescanned next week should something have shown on the scan already or should I prepare for nothing to show next week? Very worried. Thanks xx

I’ve been told by my gp that is hard to find anything at 5 weeks and that I should way for at least 6 weeks before seeing anything x

I had this, nothing seen at 5 weeks. Returned for a scan a week later and strong heartbeat seen.

5 weeks is too early to see anything! I had a scan at 6 weeks due to a previous ectopic (our EPU won’t scan before 6 weeks) and only saw a gestational & yolk sac. No fetal pole or heartbeat. Everything was absolutely fine, there’s just very little to see at that stage!
