Brown spotting and worried

I'm 7/8 weeks, and I've been having light brown spotting for over a week—a bit in my underwear and also when I wipe.

Has anyone had something similar, and it hasn't ended in a miscarriage? I had a miscarriage about a year ago, so I'm feeling nervous.

I also feel occasional light cramps that I think feel different to my other pregnancy cramps.

Brown blood is old blood - and usually not anything to worry about. But always worth checking in with your midwife, or maybe booking an early scan for peace of mind?

At 7 weeks I bled heavy red blood, definitely thought it was a miscarriage, but it turned out it was something called a subchorionic hematoma. This carried on for a few weeks but baby was fine and had a healthy pregnancy :)

Always get this checked out but I had this when expecting DS - it stopped after a short while and he was born with no worries!
