Norovirus

My son’s preschool have the start of a Norovirus outbreak this week. He was in on Monday and due back in Thursday and Friday. He doesn’t appear to have caught anything yet and we did have Norovirus end of November so hoping it’s the same strain and we’re already protected from it.

The problem is I’m 36 weeks pregnant and booked in for a C-section in 2 weeks so can’t decide if I should send him in. If I don’t send him in this week I’m then not sure if I should send him next week as there will likely still be some cases but I don’t want him to miss a whole month as it’s taken a long time to get him to the point of him going in happily and the baby is already going to be a huge adjustment when he goes back after Easter without him taking an extended break.

What would you do?

To be quite honest, I would keep him off this week and re-evaluate on monday. 36wks pregnant with noro would be awful!

Agreed! I’d take the month off, have baby and then see where you’re at and how things are going after Easter. As previous poster said, you getting it at 36/37 weeks would be really really not good! So think of yourself here as much as your son 🙏

I had norovirus when I was 35 weeks pregnant (also caring for our 1yo at the time). I then got a chest infection at 36 weeks, which turned into an asthma attack, days before the planned c section. It was absolutely shit. If you can avoid being ill in any way, avoid avoid avoid! Good luck!

I’d keep him off Thursday and Friday then probably resend on Monday. I had norovirus pregnant and it wasn’t great but I was fine after 3 days
