Is there a big difference between 13 weeks and 18 weeks pregnant

Yes, but in what way specifically?

Olika · 25/03/2025 20:40

What do you mean? 5 weeks definitely makes a difference.

yes.. 5 weeks..

BuyAllTheThings · 26/03/2025 06:27

I remember your earlier threads thinking you were further on than they were telling you. You had a scan at 6 weeks though didn’t you that looked like a normal 6 weeks scan and not 11 weeks. All you can do is wait until your next scan and they will date you again then. But I doubt you’re 5 weeks further ahead than they say going by your last scan.

Is there a chance they could get dates wrong with 13-18

There is about a 15.5cm difference between 13 and 18 weeks so yes big difference.I'd be taking the dates that they say ....

AutumnScream · 26/03/2025 19:56

No they wouldn't mistakenly think you're 13 weeks rather than 18 if they have already done a scan. Why do you think you are much further on?

ecossegirl91 · 26/03/2025 20:35

No, there is a big size difference between a baby at 13 weeks vs 18 weeks.

sotired11 · 27/03/2025 04:36

Thank you guys due to my periods and how big I am

With both my pregnancies I was often very bloated in the first 12 weeks but then the bloat settled down and I didn’t get a proper bump till around 26weeks (with baby 1)

BuyAllTheThings · 27/03/2025 08:12

I thought you were spot on with dates from your period? I remember your thread where you say you had a normal period for 7 days but it was because of your early symptoms you thought you were further along and that your period was maybe implantation bleeding. But your early scan at 6 weeks was bang on normal wasn’t it? So I really don’t think you can be any further along. Both your period dates and the early scan match with each other.

I am scan trained. If you have had a scan, there is absolutely no way they could have got it wrong. Scans are usually accurate plus or minus around 3 days at that gestation. The average foetus size at 13 weeks is 6.7cm. At 18 weeks, it is 14.2cm.

So that looks like an early scan, 6ish weeks on the left and then a 13 weeks scan on the right.

Is there no change they can get the date off by 6 weeks

No!

ecossegirl91 · 30/03/2025 17:34

No! Even to my untrained eye it looks like 6 and 13 weeks. I’ve attached a pic of my 16week scan and you can see the size difference between that and your 13 week one and that’s only 3 weeks.
