Appendix scar getting rather painful as I get bigger ... will I have to have a Ceasarian?

Pretty much as the title says. I'm 31+1 and the scar where I had my appendix out when I was 10 (20 years ago!) has suddenly started to hurt.

I know people who have had previous ceasarians sometimes have to have them repeated because of their scars, might this be a danger? Is it likely to pop open as I get bigger or when I'm in labour?

Am I being a nitwit? Should I mention this to my mw?

i'd mention it but it is a different kind of scar to a c.section scar... it is not on your uterus so it cannot cause your uterus to be compromised in anyway.

i think miaou had her appendix out when pregnant with DC4, and she was absolutely fine.

I think the pain is probably just the scar tissue being stretched as you grow, as it wont be able to stretch as well as the rest of your skin.

Mention it to your midwife as there might be a small chance that there is a slight weakness in the muscles in that area, but I reallyy dont think its going to burst open or mean you will have to have a c-section.

If it was a common problem MW would ask about appendixes when they book you in

Thanks, that's reassured me. I'll mention it at my next appointment if it doesn't get any worse. Otherwise I'll give them a call.

Thanks!
