Tmi - did you get cramps and need to poo a lot before labour started?

So sorry in advance if its a little tmi! 😬
Before bed last night I had a weird feeling in my bum, a bit crampy, so went to the toilet. In the night, I started getting some tummy cramps, kind of like trapped wind/constipation. They went on for about 15 mins to half an hour, then completely stopped.
This morning I woke up and felt a bit crampy - went to the loo again. And after a bit of rocking over my birth ball, I got the tummy cramps again and went to the loo. Just before lunch the same thing. I don't have diarrhea and feel completely well in myself. I've not suffered with constipation at all. So i'm just wondering if this could be my body gearing up for labour?
I'm 39 weeks. 🙂

Thanks for your messages, it's not been an easy ride! But baby is now here and we're loving our little bubble. I was in labour for 3 days, it was tough to say the least. A couple of issues cropped up and we had to make a quick decision to go for an EMCS. I was terrified. But thankfully all went really well and just recovering now with my little one. Still in hospital, but hoping we can go home soon.
Thanks again for your messages. 💕All the best for you in the thread who are due any day. I'll be thinking of you and hoping your little ones arrive safely. 😊

Congratulations!
I’m so sorry to hear it dragged on - you’ll know it’s not an uncommon story. But lovely to hear of the safe arrival of your little one. x

It’s normal to empty the bowels pre labour. I also vomited a lot in early labour so was starving after I think my strongest memory of giving birth was the very welcome hot buttered toast and pot of tea.

Same here. I went to the toilet and vomited a lot at the onset of labour..was pretty uncomfortable. Affter my baby arrived (over 24 hrs later I was starving (remember trying to eat some toast earlier in in the process, during my 8 hr stint in the birthing centre, but couldn't manage more than one bite)
